How CruiseIndex works
Vessel Class (of six) grades the ship itself — expert ratings, space per guest, food, service and fun from thousands of traveler reviews, health inspections and incident history baked in automatically. The sixth star is reserved for the top ~2% of the fleet.

Review Score (of 5) is the simplest one: the average rating from passengers who actually sailed the ship, pooled from thousands of published reviews across the major review sites. No editing, no reweighting. Shown as-is, so you don't have to go check them all yourself.

Value Score (of 10) grades the deal. We work out what a sailing like this normally costs — same class of ship, similar length and season — and compare today's fare against it. 5.0 = fairly priced, 7.5+ a good deal, 9+ a great one. Strong traveler reviews give the score a small lift; weak ones nudge it down. Luxury competes against luxury, so great ships aren't buried by their price tags.
No games, no markup. Every price is the cruise line's own fare, linked straight out to where you book it — if you book through CruiseIndex, the line pays us a commission; you never pay a cent more.
